Minimum Age: 17 years old. Maximum Age: 24 years old. The YouthBuild Phoenix program is a community-based alternative education and job training initiative that supports young adults ages 17 to 24 who are out of school, do not have a high school diploma or GED, and who face barriers to employment. YouthBuild is a no cost program that combines academic instruction - leading to a high school diploma or equivalent - with hands-on training in construction. Participants gain valuable skills while building affordable housing for low-income or homeless families in their communities. The program emphasizes leadership development, career pathways, and service learning, empowering youth to transform their lives and contribute positively to the neighborhoods. Graduates of the program typically either go directly into a paid registered apprenticeship in construction, directly to work in construction with a high-quality employer, or go directly to college or a university upon program completion.t
